Tiger is back in Vegas and has teamed up with the World Power Tour for his epic annual charity event Tiger Jam.
The Strip is heating up with one notable celebrity gambling in Vegas, Tiger Woods, who is presenting Tiger’s Poker Night at the MGM Grand Hotel Casino.
This year, Tiger has brought in a team of top pokers players, including Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu and Antonio Esfandiari. The poker night will be accompanied by a golf tournament, a rock concert and an auction, where also proceeds go to the Tiger Woods Foundation.
Tiger is not the only one in the world of poker doing his bit for charity, since a number of players from the prestigious poker hall of fame have raised considerable money for charity over the years.
PokerStars has been doing its bit to raise funds for Nepal with its “help me” campaign and players themselves have also been doing their bit.
Philipp Gruissem, Igor Kurganov and Liv Boeree have set up a charity endeavour, Raising for Effective Giving (REG), which offers a scientific approach behind their charity selection.
Another player, Matt Stout, founded the Charity Series of Poker, a non-profit fundraiser, whose causes also include the Habitat for Humanity and the Community Food Bank.
Tiger Woods’ exclusive poker night takes place on 15 May. If you want to follow, but can’t make it to the event, have no fear, the World Poker Tour will be there to film the action!
